We live in one of the most unprecedented times with the prevalence of the COVID-19 pandemic. As of two days ago, the number has crossed the 10Lakh mark – and as many of us resonate, this feels like the force of the virus is in full throttle leaving us feeling more fearful, uncertain and anxious.

While on one side, we have the contagious virus going around, on the other, our humanity has stepped into the space of Karuna (Sanskrit word for Compassion) – which co-incidentally sounds like Corona and is equally as contagious, if not more. It is without a doubt that we see a clear new emergence, almost like a new story for the world. One where people have slowed down, almost as nature’s way of forcing us to focus within, observe around, and find that spark of generosity within us. With resounding empathy ringing in our depths, the feeling of ‘we are all in this together’ has surfaced. This pandemic is proving to be one of the greatest case studies of how people came together to fight for a bigger cause – that of evading not only the virus, but using our collective energies to highlight our shared empathy and humanity.

While people take a pause, we see remarkable acts of courageous kindness coming to light, from citizens coming together to put up concerts from their balconies, to our social media feeds filled with generous offerings of free live sessions, webinars and groups calls. We are witness to uplifting acts of service, gratitude for front-line workers, the youth offering help to senior citizens, entrepreneurs innovating, mental-health activists using their collective voice, and several unsung heroes coming together to offer support and assistance to daily-wage workers. The stories and anecdotes are endless.

While we cannot and must not turn a blind eye to our grief and suffering, this is an invitation to notice the subtle but clear happenstance, an uncommon grace and a common oneness that goes beyond race, religion and culture.

We at MySocially cannot wait to be back, to offer a platform to this spirit of community with our group-buying model. The intention is to not only serve you a purpose but contribute to help those in need as we donate a percentage of our sales to a bigger cause. As Maya Angelou says, ‘from gloom and despair, and into the pleasing climate of hope.’ We wish that all of you stay well, safe and hopeful.
